At One
In a Place Called Maine

I live in a place
where I awaken sparked, so sparked
as the first light ignites.

I am at one
with the radiant dawn,
a pink-orange fire
that flickers and flashes
flaring up a new day.

This book is a love poem to author Lynn Plourde’s home state of Maine, where it is so easy to feel “at one” with nature. From the first sunrise in the United States to the top of mile-high Mt. Katahdin to a moonlit cross-country ski adventure, nature is celebrated day after day in every way.
